My A4 DTM currently sits on Dunlop Sport Maxxs and it will soon be time to put some new boots on. Anyone have any suggestions? What tyres are oe fit on RS4s?

I put Eagle F1s on my previous Quattro (and have them on the Cerb) which are fine, just wondered if there was anything better (£ for £?

Well, in the end I got a deal on a set of Pirelli PZero Corsas. Will see what they are like in a few miles. At the moment Ive not done 50 miles on them and its like driving on ice yikes No way as rock steady as the SportMaxxs. Im assuming its the releasing agent (whatever that is?) coming out? Or possibly the tyres are over inflated (will check this ASAP). Or it could be down to the God-awful weather?

How long does this releasing agent stuff take to, err, release?

Only just seen this post but in answer to your first question my RS4 came with Pirelli PZero Reds fitted as standard but I know of others that have come with Continentals or Michelins. I will probably put Michelins on them when they need replacing.

Tyres probably just need to scrub up a little.
I've just done a 400 mile round trip on the M1 on a brand new set of Conti SC2s.
Bloody scary until halfway through my return journey.

Dom, I asked my local (Brighton) Audi chap what the oe fit was and he said they put on whatever they have in stock yikes

Noticed your number plate. Did you purchase through Camberly Audi? (say that as my plate is an 'RJ' one )

I purchased it from Basingstoke Audi which is part of the same really, the demo I test drove came from the Camberley branch.

Re the tyres, as you say, they stick on what ones they have at the time so it is very hit and miss what you end up with. beer

They made 1000 worldwide. 250 rhd (uk market) and 750 for the rest of Europe.

I like it

Picture on my profile too.

Going to get AMD to chip it hopefully next month to 250bhp (have a 410bhp Cerbera for those 'nutty' days ).

I refer to it as the RS4's baby brother cloud9

Blimey Len, looked at your profile and thought you'd nicked my car!

Yes mate, its spot on. I like my cars to be a bit different from the norm (the DTM bodykit over the standard S Line stuff, but you know that already ).

Whilst its still plenty quick enough, and an excellent daily driver, due to also having a Cerbera, I have this itch to get it chipped and make it a bit quicker.

Its a supreme wet weather car, I can boot it around in ways that would have me pooping my pants in the Cerb yikes

Couldnt agree more I like my cars a little more unusual and the DTM looked great. I think we are the only ones on here with a DTM (I may be wrong?) and I agree in the wet its fantastic. I had a C32 AMG before and as soon as it rained it slid like a slidy thing on a slidy road in slidy town. I did ask though why the tow hook was painted red - the sales guy said its so its still visible at night when you need pulling out of a ditch afer constantly pushing it hard :-0

I agree though the extra little bits make it look more attractive, a friend who has an S4 agreed it looked more aggressive than his. It must be so different form the cerb though?

Funny enough I had a C32 on the shortlist. Decided, as its my company car/daily driver, was best to get something that wouldnt have the bean counters pulling their hair out about the running costs

Chalk and cheese compared to the Cerb. The DTM (obviously) wouldnt see which way the Cerb went in the dry. But add some H20 and I reckon only the most dedicated Cerb driver would get too far in front of the Audi. Not that the cerb cant be driven quick in the wet, in the right hands it can, but for 'normal' wheelmen, like myself, the Audi gives you so much more confidence (quattro and traction control will be the reason I reckon )

I didnt realise they did the DTM in 2 wheel drive? (as per the article above). Thought they where all quattros
