New S4 variable valve timing

Anybody know when (RPM)the vvt and the variable inlet manifold lengths cuts in and out and what it does to the timing on the new 4.2 S4???

The way I read it, along with this it's a continuous or descreet system, that dosn't "kick" in. As for driving my Audi, it just seems to pull hard from all revs and there is no noticably surge in power. John
