How many Kms do you get out a A4 Engine?

My 1.8L 97 A4 Avant has now done 150,000kms, using 10W-40 Shell Helix oil (not burning up) and pulling strong. I use this as an everyday drive to and from work each day and try not to thrash it. I have heard that you could get over 400k on one engine without a rebuild if services are kept up or just an urban myth?
I have already put a new clutch kit in at around 130,000kms.
