Dear all,

Sorry to hijack the Audi/VW section today as I usually am on the Ferrari/Maser/Lambo section.

My wife's V8 Cayenne S is now 3-years old from new and we need to change it.... We were looking at either a new Cayenne Turbo or potentially a Q7,,,, until we saw the new shape Cayenne that was announced yesterday in the press. What an ugly car!!! I know I have a perverse viewpoint as I actually like Cayenne (curent looks) and it's looks have not dropped off on me.... until now!!

So I have driven the Q7 4.2 V8 and it is not as flexible as the 4.5 V8 in the Cayenne and to be really honest, I personally only use the Cayenne as the weekends and do not rag it as my Daughter and wife will be in the car. So I am thinking of maybe looking at the 3.0 TDI which has 233 PS. I think this will be too underpowered for my needs but was thinking that we could have the car re-mapped by one of the reputable after-market outfits to up the power and more importantly the torque to a respectable level.

Question, do any of you know anyone who has had this done and what are your views, positive or negative?? What power and torque can I expect? Who would you recommend? I think the 3.0 TDI is virtually the same as in the other Audi models.

Look forward to your collective responses and postive ones will probably tip me over the edge and sell the Cayenne for a Q7.

Cheers,

Stu

I have an A6 quattro 3.0TDi that I had chipped at 5000m. 12000m later it is still putting a smile on my face every time I drive it. Power is up to 280PS with the torque at close to 400ft/lb. It is more responsive, driveable and surprisingly more economical. Superchips also have a warranty so gives you peace of mind.
