Have seen a few floating around Wiltshire. Generally the look to be quite highly specced cars and I have to say I quite like them.

yeah, a silver one lives around the corner from me...

very much a 'style statment' at the moment IMO... but probably a better bet than the flimsy French offerings...

Went to test a 2.0 Turbo (Golf GTI engine) with my Father along with a Golf GTI.

The Eos was nice to drive, felt as rigid as a normal coupe & the turbo unit is very responsive and fast enough. Looks sleeker in Silver, Grey or Black.

Think he will be buying one.

I like the looks and if its anything like our new Golf then its bound to be a good car all round. BUT - I don't see the point of these cars with the restrictions they bring - buy an MX5/SLK (proper 2 seater), even a Z4 has a better boot access than the EOS. Or buy a 2 years old 3 series/A4 convertible. Proper boot, 4 good seats.

Make sure you don't mind bashing your head on the windscreen surround while getting in. Make sure you don't need the rear seats as there is no legroom unless the driver is less than average height. Make sure you don't need to put anything fatter than a laptop in the boot when the roof is down.

Take your points but there is plenty of demand for people who need NEW (co car, lease etc) 4 seater CCs

In Eos defence I would say:

I could fit in the back - Father is av. height, I'm 6'2" & 220lb - no less room in the back than our E46 Convertible, more rigid structure, no squeaks, more secure, new & just as nice to drive.

Boot isnt that much smaller and the car is significantly shorter too - issue for some people.

Screen not as far back in the Eos as other CCs.

More people these days only have parking for 1 car & this car is reasonably compact & consequently easier to find parking spaces for, fun to drive, has 4 seats and is a coupe & convertible.

Not for everyone but plenty of good points

Fairy snuff.

I still don't know how you fit in the back behind a 6f 2 driver (unless one of you has no legs).

No I would not want to be there for long.

On the other hand I dont think I would buy any 4 seater convertible to lug four 6'+ blokes around - It would just look way too camp for my liking! ('60s Yank or old square E class excepted.)
