A4 Avant Extended Warranty

Hi all, my wife has just bought a 2003 A4 2.0 Avant Sport from Car Giant. It's done 53k miles and has full audi service history. She's been offered extended warranty on the car 2 years for £399. It seems to cover most things, however there is a claim limit of £1000 per claim. You can claim as many times as you want, but you have to pay the excess if it's over £1000. We've not owned an Audi before, so is it likely that anything that goes wrong is likely to be over £1000. Apparently the bloke selling it said the most expensive thing is a gearbox and thats about £900. To be honest I'm not at all convinced.

I would take the warranty. I've had a few Audi's and generally they are great but if something does go wrong it can cost 2,3,400 pounds easy so £399 for 2 years is worth it. Just check if the warranty covers you for main dealer though
