Golf MKII workshop manual
Discussion
Hello,
I have a 1991 golf mark II 1.6 diesel which has developed an intermittent fault with the interior fan - sometimes it works, sometimes it does n't. I would like to try and correct the fault by cleaning the electrical connections on the blower and fan control. Unfortunately I can't find a workshop manual that covers the exact model I own. Haynes do a manual on the petrol versions of the MKII golf - would this be any good? I would also like to get hold of a workshop manual on the engine, does anyone know one that would suit?

LHS of dashboard, take off lower panel(s), you will then be able to see the fan. It twists off and drops out of its housing. You will then be able to test and and grease the bearings if required. You can also replace the fan switch and heater controls if required. It is not a difficult job and you could be in and out in under and hour.
It is documented in the Haynes book of lies too...
Cheers,
Steve
