Audi/VW 'flippy' keyfobs
Discussion
Specifically I'm trying to find out what age of Audi A4 Avant 1.8SE or 1.9TDi SE will have the forementioned remote fob and flip-out key? I'm thinking that '99 models did and '97 models didn't, but am unsure about exactly where the change was made.
I seem to remember being in a 1998 S-reg VW Passat 1.8T that did have the flip-style key.

was about 98 IIRC - models without central locking still use basic key style.
I've just had a courtesy Fabia. It had remote central locking with a non-flip key (looks like the old non-central locking keys) but with lock and unlock buttons in the fob bit. I guess VAG can't have too many basic Fabia buyers having the same key as a Conti GT (although it doesn't seem to matter that 10yr old A3 owners have it )Just to add my bit from VAG cars I have had....
1997 Audi A3 1.8 T Sport - Flip key
2000 Audi A3 1.8 T Sport - Flip key
2000 Polo GTi - Remote non flip key
2001 Lupo TDi Sport - No remote central locking
2001 Seat Leon Cupra - Remote non flip key
2004 Seat Ibiza - Remote non flip key
2005 Skoda Octavia VRs - Flip key
