A6 TDI auto lunge
Discussion
Evening All,
Went to test drive the following:
A6 TDI - not sure what BHP?
2003 - 03
SE spec
Auto/triptonic
81k
I have only driven a couple of auto diesel.....namely 530d,525d and 330d.
Other autos have been Volvo T5's and other brisk motors.
The question is that it felt slow and when stand-still and I lift off brake pedal ther was hardly any movement forward when in drive. I physically had to push the accelerator.
Is this a sign of anything...or just simply something which is under powered?
The car was everything else though...colour, spec, ride, toys etc etc etc.
SO the question should an auto/diesel start to move forward (1-5mph) or should it budge an inch or two until you hit the loud pedal.
Help appreciated...want to buy it in the morning !

Am by no means an experts in these matters, but, was loaned a 06 plate 2 ltr diesel A6 Auto whilst mine was in the workshop recently. IMO was seriously underpowered - had to drive it hard to get anywhere with it - particularly slow from a atanding start. If the car you're looking at is in this cc range, would wholeheartedly recommend you wait until a 2.7 or 3.0 ltr equivalent becomes available.
