Am getting some interesting noises coming from the centre consul area of my two-month-old A6.

Sounds like a gurgling, slurping, noise. Only happens when starting from cold. Tends to disappear after a few minutes of driving.

Will be paying a visit to the main dealer soon. However, if previous experiences are anything to go by, they will be wanting/needing me to tell them what the problem is!

Any ideas?

Hmmm, could be. Does sound a bit like a freezer - apparently, refrigerant gas is sometimes a liquid?!?! Perhaps I should have paid more attention in science classes all those years ago.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but this is getting serious now.

Car has been back to dealer twice now, for a total of 8 days - still not fixed.

They have tried/replaced everything they can think of - worth noting that customer service has been faultless - but it still gurgles away like my 11 month son drinking water from one of those non-drip cups.

Their latest idea is to record the sound it makes and send it to Germany for them to analize - grasping at straws me thinks.

Has anyone else experienced and/or solved this problem? I just want to get it fixed!

Any/all help/advice greatley appreciated.

Am pretty certain its not the fuel pump - noise is still evident with ignition switched on but engine not running. Noise seems to be coming from around the gear stick/MMI area - but is really difficult to locate precisely!

Audi recon its the heating/engine cooling system - however, they have changed the valves and bled the system of air twice, all to no effect. In fact, bleeing and refilling the system seems to have made it worse. I stated the obvious, that maybe it's simply air in the system. They said not possible, as the entire process is done with a sealed vacuum extraction and refill machine. Any master-tech's out there who can explain further?

Car was brand new when I bought it in September. Is there really an option to ask them to change the car? If so, that's what i'll do. Problem has moved from slightly annoyed to seriously pi**ed off.

From your earlier description it does sound like the aircon - I can see why they think it's that.

Leave the car with them overnight so they can hear it from cold themselves.

It could be the fuel pump. Would that not come on with the ignition key to prime the engine before turnover? Did on my old Tiv.

Whatever - it's annoying you and you need to leave it with them.

Hope you get it sorted.
