When you say you're looking to buy a new RS6 saloon. Do you mean a used example of the old shape RS6 or want to wait untill he new one arrives?
The new one is due for launch next year, however I wouldn't be surprised if it is delayed a bit as the new shape A6 is no-where near the end of its cycle which is when Audi usually launch the RS's. that and the fact that the RS4 is still selling relatively well and would be built by the same factory (may not have enough space)means i would say it is more likely out in 2008.
in addition if they follow the same method as the RS4 it won't be so limited as the old one which means the old one should hold its price ok.

Ah yes I didn't read that very well.
From what I understand the S6 is a bit of a dog anyway so if the RS6 is even half as good as the RS4 I would say it may be affected but not as much as an outgoing model would.
general advice though would be to avoid the S6 anyway unless bone jarring ride is what you look for in a car?
