Recall on RS4 for engine fault?????

My new RS4 was complete and awaiting shipment from Germany.
Today I received a call from my dealer to say that it has been delayed by up to 5 weeks as Audi have just found an engine issue with the RS4 and will fix it befiore shipping the car. They will give me a high calibre loan car until mine is shipped.
Just a heads up, and does anyone else know about this??????

Is it the camchain tentioner problem again, as with the S4????????

Hey yes!!

And I still haven't got mine sorted yet. The noise is much worse now on start up(since my last ring trip) and it also happens sometimes when I shut the engine down. I was planning to go and see the dealer this week in fact. I feel happy that I know what it is, thank you for your help. I must get it sorted before warranty expires.

I think that it won't be a general fault unfortunately for you. I say that mostly because of the regime they at VAG put their product through for launch and the amount of these engines they intend to produce now that it is in the R8 as well should mean that any faults will have been ironed out by now.
I say that slightly hopefully as mine is still yet to be delivered.

Well, whatever it is,then at least Audi have taken it seriously enough to ship an ex "press car" RS4 up to Aberdeen for me to use FOC until the fault is rectified. I collected it yesterday!!

I just spoke with my dealer. It seems that yes there was a fault on a batch of RS4 engines and they have gone back to the factory wth many of them. Seems its set the whole process back by a week or two.
