ive just come along a 1993 L Plate white south african import with 175,000 km. It has rear bumper and tailgate damage! Is there a home for such a vehicle? (one owner with tax and mot!) Thanks!

I've been looking for one of these for a long time! Do you have any details or pictures you could forward.

Does anyone know of someone or somewhere that imports these new from South Africa.

For info, these are essentially the b@stard love child of the early mark golfs (1 & 2) with some later polo trims and interior bits thrown in for good measure. They are all 5 door which is a shame, but they are cooler than a penguins privates!

Not quite so simple - I have seen them with Skoda Felicia dashboards in them as well - from the factory!

They were a real hotch-potch, and much heavier than the original Mk1 GTi, so tread carefully if you think you are buying a legend. (You aren't.)
