Where are all the new Audi TT's?
Discussion
I've been keeping my eyes peeled for the new TT but have yet to see one. I drove for 4 hours this morning from Berkshire to Southend and back and didn't spot a single new Audi TT. I saw 4 Bentley Continental GT's, a Maserati Quattroporte and a Ferrari Dino (on a trailer). I know they haven't been out for that long so far but in this part of the world I would have thought there would be a few about by now.
Has anyone got one - if so, which engine and gear box and what's your opinion? Also, anyone know the current delivery times? Cheers.

I don't have one, but have seen 2 or 3 as I have been out and about. Our local doctor has purchased one (not sure which engine size it is). It's in a subtle gold colour which does look good.
I was in the local Audi dealer on launch day and they had a pale green coloured 3.2. I suspect in time that could be a popular colour as it did suit the lines of the car.

Seen a few driving about, but to be honest they just look dull, and as I think ever one I've seen was silver that doesn't help
The old shape is actually growing on me at the moment see a black one on BBS RC's parked up locally a lot and it looks great.
If you really want to spot one I'd suggest having a drive past your local estate agent

I've seen a couple about. Avis Prestige have them on their hire fleet. I tried to hire a 2.0 turbo dsg (or do they call it s-tronic on tt?) for a weekend last week but they wouldn't hire to me because I've got a 28 day ban (SP30) on my record, even though it's not a problem for other companies.... Anyway, I digress, you won't be seeing me in one anyway!

Went for a spin in a 3.2 s-tronic (stupid name - much prefer DSG - does exactly what it says on the tin) this morning. At least I have seen one new TT now. It was only a short drive but the gearbox is amazing - like a switch changing gear. Really like the styling compared to the old car - much more purposeful. However, I'm not sure it is for me, it still felt a bit too small and I didn't find the driver's seat very comfortable. It was also a bit noisy - mainly road noise echoing round the cabin - I've been driving a 3-series saloon and the difference getting back in was quite noticeable. Basically I need to have the car for 24hrs and see what it is like to live with properly. However, I'm trying a new 3-series coupe next week and I think that is where my heart really lies...........
Strange, I see one every day, oh yeah it's mine (Smug mode off)
I have done 4500 miles in two months and have to say the following:-
I can't understand how few I have seen. I have only seen three on the road in all that time.
Second, the car is superb, it sound's great, and sticks to the road like the preverbeal, if you know what I mean!!
I can't wait to get the Tuscan out this weekend to go and support the rally in London, but in the bad weather over the last few weeks I have really come to appreciate how good the quattro system is.
What I can't understand is why the press are pushing the 2.0lt front wheel drive car. I just can't see how it can match the V6 punch or the 4wd traction and handling.
Anyway, if anybody is thinking about a test drive I would totally recommend it. Enjoy.
