I'm having a spot of bother with a rear window not working and I'm hoping that you might be able to shed some light on it.

The motor is fine, also greased up the mechanism, the window works when using the switch on the dash, however, it doesn't when I try using the window switch on the door. I've tried another switch (from the other rear door - which I know works), however, it is still not playing ball. I'm no sparky, are there any fuses/relays to replace (I couldn't find any though) or could there be a problem with the wiring in the door?

Cheers

you dont say what car it is,and i'm racking my brains to think which audi/vw has the window switch on the dash. A polo? if you cant find an individual fuse for the rear door on that side, you need to test for a live at the switch, and then the regulator when the switch is operated. If there's no live to the switch, then it's either a fuse, or a wire broken/corroded on that loom. The latter sounds more likely. I hope this helps. Good Luck

Usualy resides with the electric rear window switches , look for a switch with a window icon and a cross on it .

I think you mean the little unlabelled rectangle button which sits between the two rear switches on the dash. Tried that....it's not that cos the window on the other side works. Something is up between the switch in the door and the motor...its annoying me now!

have you tried swapping the working switch over to see if it operates ? its a case of keeping a level head and going through a process of elimination .

Have you a multimeter ? check for continuity from the dash switch to the rear door .

No multimeter, however, I'll try to get hold of one.
