Hi

My Audi keeps blowing its fuses for the aircon and heater system. The same fuse also controls the rear park sensors. I can live without the aircon but I need the heaters to demist the windows.

Audi recently (about 3 months ago) replaced the rear bumper after an accident and the park sensors only work intermitantly after. I didnt have it looked at until the aircon went and then realised they both ran off the same fuse.

Any ideas what it could be? Audi (bodyshop) disconnected the park sensors and the fuse still kept blowing so it looks like it wasnt due to an error on their part. Audi want another 4 weeks before they will even look at the car for a diagnostic test and I really cant wait that long.

Im open to suggestions.

Thanks

is it digital climate controls ? could be the units gone faulty , but if its blowing fuses i would say there is a short somewhere could be reverse sensor linked .

This is just an idea. If Audi tech's disconnected the back bumper from the parking sensor module, did they remove power from the module itself. I'm sure it's wired in directly if it's factory fitted. How hard was the impact? Was there back panel damage? It's possible the impact could have caused an internal short on the parking module. It just sounds a bit dodgy that your sensors were intermittent before the shorts took place. It's Audi's fault, and its scandalous that they should make you wait four weeks. Good luck

Thanks for the comments guys. Yes it is the digital climate controls. The thing is, it was the body shop (a third party to Audi which they use) who said they disconnected it and tested it so firstly means they are not trained auto electricians so i'm not sure how much they know on the matter. The impact only meant a replacement bumper was needed but this came in fitted at over £1000 so went through the insurance of the car whos fault it was.
I think I will just wait to see what the audi dealership have to say and try to charge any costs to the body shop. Audi charge £117 per hour Im sure there will be some.

Thanks Again
