Hi all, would any of you be able to let me know what this warning light means? I think it could be the water pump but i cant hear any odd noises confused

did you not get an owners manuall with your service book nono that light be engine management fault could be some thing as simple as a lamda probe which would not make the car run rough but can some times put the light on as it controls fueling you need some one in the trade who has got a fault reader

The engine management light on my A3 came on cause there was a faulty water temperature sender.

It could be any number of things though......

Need to get it checked on VAG com.

Had this two weeks ago on my S3 AND IT'S NOT A SYMBOL LISTED IN THE MANUAL!! Crazy but true. Yep it's a emissions fault, as others have said, could be a number of things.
Mine turned out to be a dead lambda sensor just after the turbo. £90 plus labour.

Thanks for the replys thumbup yep it was the emissions! The night before i filled the tank with some race fuel which i think confused the sensors!
