Is the Golf GT available as a 2.0 TDi 140bhp?

If so, then that's not really a "GT" is it? It's just the standard 2.0 TDi with a different spec. And there's me thinking that VW had come out with a sporty model with unique engines....

www.volkswagen.co.uk/new_cars/golf/gt_spec seems to just suggest the 140bhp 2.0 is available.

I ask because of an embarassing story. I see what I think is a red Mk5 GTi fly off a roundabout onto the dual carriageway I'm on (this is in my 16 year old cossie Merc). I floor it, but he's going much quicker than me and passes. However using all the revs and gears, I catch back up and actually begin to overtake him. At this point I am thinking "wow this is awesome, my car is actually faster than a new GTi !?".

But as I slow down shortly after to let him go, I see the GT badge on the back.

Bugger. "Oh well," I think, "they're still pretty powerful at 170bhp, so the old Merc is coping well."

Now it's double-bugger, because I realise it was only the 140bhp model.

Hang on, it says
"GT 2.0 170PS 6spd 3dr DPF"

Doesn't that mean it's a Diesel, when it is fitted with a DPF, Diesel Partikel Filter?
