Cheap RS6 or Dealer S4 Avant?
Discussion
I'm currently looking at spending around £27k on a car that needs to be something of a schizophrenic...
Namely, put the smiling back into driving after 2 years in worthy TDI A4 Avant....whilst still having the lugging ability needed with a young family...
Want to stay loyal to Audi as I love 'em. (Before the nipper came along I had an Impreza from new for just 6 months...hated it.)
So, what do you guys think? RS6 Avant with larger miles or a circa 25k miles S4 Avant?
Realise that running costs are going to be large...but that's life!
Any real world advice greatly appreciated!

Had the same dilemma and went for the S4.
RS6 was going to cost nearly £30K for a 4-5 year old car with 60-70K on the clock. I bought a 2 year old S4 Avant for £25K with only 20K on the clock.
Space aside the S4 is still pretty quick (especially with a bit of fettling), more nimble and comes with a proper manual gearbox. What really swung it for me was that it was a newer car with 7 months Audi warranty remaining.
Plenty of room for 2 kids ... when I was a lad our whole family of 5 would fit in my dad's Mk2 Escort. Why do people these days need something the size of a bus to transport one kid? .... saying that I might buy a "low-profile" roofbox for big holidays.

I keep trying A4/S4 on the basis that they should be big enough, but the rear leg room always lets them down (esp the S4 with those big seats). I have to have the next size up (urS4 and AllRoad and TBH they're only just big enough with the wife, girls and hounds.
I'm hoping the A5 will fit neatly in between though.
