Sat in traffic yesterday in Drive, go to pull away and the car didnt move but the engine was reving. Stick it into N then back into D and the car bunny hops then pulls away. Drive up the road and its stuck it second gear. Slow down and goes back into 1st so accelerate again but still wont go out of 2nd. Managed to limp the car back to the audi garage and they gave me a loan car till its sorted.

Anyone experienced the same things with their DSG box??

Cheers

I've got an A3 with DSG, had it 2 1/2yrs. About 6 months after I got it, it did a similar trick to yours but ended up just sitting in neutral. I switched off and restarted and it was OK again - I took it to the dealer but they said they couldn't find anything wrong, It has however been fine since then.

But I have had quite a few minor electrical issues which I'm beginning to think may be a VW/Audi trait as my wife's car (a Ford but with VW/Audi electrics) has been similar, it is starting to concern me now though as the warranty runs out in March '07 and I'm worried that it could start to get expensive, I've not done 20k miles yet.

modern cars use loads of electronic and software control, the faults which rectify themselves on a restart are normally sw problems. Given most ar manufacturers use the same suppliers I can't see one manufacturer being better than another in that respect.
