VW spares on-line?

I have a VW part number & would like to get a price for it? Anyone know an on-line spares supplier where i can check? I've called the local main dealer & they want reg & chassis numbers (which i don't have at the minute) otherwise they can't tell me? I've tried GSF but their system doesn't recognise the number?
