New TT test drive
Discussion
Yesterday I took a 30min test drive in the new TT (3.2 DSG). Here are my impressions:
Looks:
It's a squat and handsome car but it ;lacks the wow factor of the original when it came out. Front end view is best with a lovely cut to the headlight/bonnet line.
Interior:
Fabulous. A lovely place to be with clear instruments and a great ambiance. A couple of drawbacks were the lack of a front centre armrest and the brake pedal whcih seemed to be set to high for comfort.
Driving:
Very solid and stable. Steering over-light at low speed but firms up well. Copes with quick direction changes well and has a good comfortable to firm ride. Comfortable at 90mph cruising spped (didn't take it faster).
Performance:
Good acceleration, eager engine.
Gerabox:
Guiveme the manual please, too much automatic over-ridde built into the DSG programme.
Overall:
Definately one to keep on the shortlist - going to try a 350Z and Z4 oupe soon and will make my mind up then.
