During a timing belt change the main dealership have dropped the engine from my father's car. This has split the sump yikes

I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts as to what areas of the engine need to be inspected for (no doubt inevitable) additional damage.

The car is an '02 Toledo.

Thanks

Does the engine even need to be removed to do this?

You make an excellent point. I don't know. I'm going to go into a specialist tomorrow and talk it over with them. Dad's too busy a) flapping b) wondering how much it's going to cost

The answer to (b) being ' all' if they've any sense furious

Make SURE the replace the stretch bolts for ther engine mounts.
These cannot be reused but plenty of people take shortcuts and end up with a problem.
