Hi there,

Like it says - just got an '03 A4 avant but its lacking a CD player.

The head unit is the "Chorus", which has a button to change the input, but without a changer, not a lot happens!

Can I add a CD changer in the boot eg: if so, into the cubby on the LHS?

I used to have an A6 with the Bose Concert stereo in it - would one of these fit straight in, as I recall a big Bose amp unit that lived in the RHS cubby ho;e in the A6.

Answers on a post card - all assistance gratefully received.

If its the same as my A6 then it'll be a Panasonic changer to fit straight onto the pre installed lead (if there is one) either in the boot or somewhere in the passenger compartment. If you buy a different make of changer then you'll need an adapter to change the plug from the make of changer to the Audi lead.

I bought an Alpine changer and had all sorts of problems with the adapter not working. Currently on its third and i'm not holding my breath for it lasting for too long, though the changer is fine. If its not an OE fitment changer it won't fit in the cradle for it, i had to fit mine on the underneath of the rear deck of the parcel shelf by drilling holes in it, not the best idea, but the only solution.

Hope this helps

I'd recommend the Sony CDX-T70MX ; www.addacdchanger.co.uk/MP3_Products/Factory_Fit_MP3_Changers/Audi_MP3_Changer/Option_1/Audi_A2-A3-A4-A6-A8-TT_MP3_Changer_%28PACK_1-_Sony%29
not only does it work perfectly with the Head Unit it will also play MP3 tracks from CDs (lots of music) and it's about the smallest sized changer you'll find - fits in the glovebox of my A3 but it would work equally well in the boot or wherever.
