TYRE ROTATION/DIRECTION
Discussion
Morning anyone who can advise,
On sunday i fitted a new set of RS6 18" rims to my TT Roadster. After about 30 miles driving home yesterday there was an obvious clanging noise coming from the front left wheel. Getting out to check the wheel, to my horror 1 of the 5 nuts was missing. Not only this but all nuts on all wheels were no longer tight.
Upon inspection when i got home through no-ones fault but my own the right directional wheels/tyres were on the left pointing backwards and vice a versa. (After laying the rims out in my drive i drove head on in instead of reversing - messing things up!!!)
So would this result in the nuts slackening off so much??
I have obviously changed the wheels around last night but will check the nuts after work and when i get home to make sure it has not happend again!!
Any advice/help is appreciated!!!
Cheers
Phil

Cheers guys.
After 3 phone calls and an e-mail with photographic proof, the company agreed it was the wrong nuts. Claiming it was a new batch of wheels from Italy with different seatings therfore different nuts - absolute tripe if you ask me!! Not even so much as an apology just an excuse.
At the moment i have used the original TT nuts which are compatible and will replace them when i recieve delivery of the new nuts.
Obviously as a result of running the car with the wrong nuts there may be damage to the alloy i would think so i will follow up with a "nasty" letter to the company and demand a response at least!!!
They have to remember sending the wrong nuts almost and could have casued a serious accident resulting in damage to the car or worse my girlfriend who was driving at the time!!!
Will get that letter off today and await a response which i shall report back.
Anyway the rims are looking pretty mint on the TT at present. Im sure there probably are ones out there with these wheels but i have not seen any on the road as of yet.
Thanks again
