Dashpod on TT

Hi peeps,

I know this subject has probably been thrashed to death but I am new to TT's. When I get into the car and turn on the ignition, the temp dial shoots straight up to over 50 degrees and when driving the car it always seems to be well over ninety (but not into the red area). The fan does cut in b4 the needle goes into the red when in traffic. Does this seem like normal behaviour for a TT or could it be early signs of a dashpod problem?

Could well be dashpod.
