A6 4.2 Tdi

Does anyone know whether Audi has plans to fit the 4.2 diesel engine (per the A8) into the A6?

Perhaps no-one else would find it interesting but as the A8 Tdi is sub 6 seconds to 60 I would love an A6 Avant 4.2 Tdi for lugging the ankle-biters around.

It would work perfectly if they fit the Sport air suspension.

I own a new A8 4.2 TDI Sport, I would love an A6 4.2 TDI sport, that would be a nice combo

You should try a "chipped" 4.2TDI, they are great.

I think it will be a trip to the local dealer after Christmas to try a standard one first then we can start playing with it!
