New S3

I visted a dealer recently about the new S3. He said they are taking deposits and its due in the showroom in November. He also said its going to start at £26,995. Anyone got any more details as to spec.,if Leather Recaros and 18ins are going to be standard, Xenons extra no doubt.
Looking at the 3-door A3 body, it's short of room and boot space compared with the Golf and Leon Cupra chassis.

I believe it's going to be a 2.0 turbo 4 pot (like the golf and the leon) but with around 260bhp.

I don't think anyone knows for sure at this stage. I think they were planning to make it lighter too so power is not everything in this case. I hope they do because my S3 is great but rather lardy

Do think it'll be lighter than our S3s marc, think they just want to make it less lardy and front heavy than the R32 / A3 3.2q.

Will be interesting to see what it really is going to be, however I won't believe it till I see it.

Not sure they've done enough to make it special over the A3... want to see one that's not boring silver and see one in real life as I'm not sure they've done a very good job on the sides.

How do you access the PR on the Audi site? I always find their site difficult to navigate.

Very wierd, it was at the top of the page on that link earlier but it's gone now, it was word for word the information on the world car fan page.

I think it looks pretty smart. Wonder what it will remap to? Mine's running 270bhp / 280lbft at the moment so it would have to be 300bhp to really make it interesting.

I don't think the styling is as cool as the Leon Cupra, all rather restrained.
If the engine has a bigger I/C than the FSiT it should remap to well over 300 as it has the bigger turbo and injectors.

A 4-pot 2.0 with 260bhp. Interesting that they didn't use the 3.2 V6, or are they saving that for a RS3?

There is already a 3.2 A3, the S3 is using the 2.0T in an attempt to sort the weight distribution I think and as it's lighter than the 3.2 is also a fair bit quicker, they seem to claim 60 is up in 5.7s.
