When I ordered my Transporter, I stupidly left off AC. Muppet.

Does anyone know if VW will do a retrofit installation using original parts or any other company that will do it?

Please help. I drove along the M23 toay with the windows open and it felt like I was being blasted with a hot air gun! Closing them was not an option!!!!!

VW don't get involved with retrofitting aircons, as I found out myself for my newly acquired Golf TdI.
Alpinair install aircon for £1150+VAT with 12 months warranty.

Or Mirageair do it for £1150 +VAT with 3 years warranty which looks a more attractive solution IMO.

Obviously it would have been cheaper to do it intially as a £500 option extra.Never mind hindsight is always a wonderful thing.

Let us know how you get on , I would be interested myself.Mirage air told me they use VW switches as part of the kit and it would be seemlessly installed same as original equipment allegedly.
3 years warranty is a bonus too in case things go mammaries moonward.

Do you know if aircon can be retro-fitted to a car that never had it as a factory-option (ie it was not an available option when new)?

Yes Aircon can be fitted to any car, regardless of whether it had it originally as an option or not AFAIK.
Ring the companies above , they'll be able to tell you.
