Derestricted RS4 - how fast?

Was chatting to my father at the weekend about his new RS4 Avant which is due to arrive imminently - he was told it was built last week - and we were discussing the performance. He mentioned that the factory had rung and asked him whether or not he wanted the speed restrictor fitted that limits the car to 155mph. Naturally he said no (hurrah!).

However neither of us knew what the top speed of the car would then be (assuming suitable tyres). Does anyone know?

on 420 ish bhp I'd imagine about 175 given a long enough road.

On a private road I have seen indicated 180 on speedo and 172 on Snooper (GPS) was still going and felt much better than 996 TT at same speed

My father lives in Italy so not much chance of figuring it other than by reference to the Carabinieri's radar guns. So I think we'll stick with an approximate figure.
