Hi all,

Has anybody replaced these themselves? I've got a 2000 A4 1.8 T Sport and one of the main bulbs has gone - the manual says that these should be replaced by Audi as its not an easy job, but Audi have quoted 36 quid for the priviledge! (I guess the price of the bulb plus thirty mins labour)

Thanks
J

Is 2000 the newer shape? I've got a 1999 A4 (old shape) and its easy enough to change the bulbs. On the driver's side, you have to remove a bit of the air intake ducting to get at the back of the lamp and it's a bit fiddly, but not too difficult.

I previously had a 2002 A4 and the tail lamp bulbs had to be changed by a dealer as there was no obvious way to get at the back of the light clusters.

I do know on the 'new new' Audi A4's you have to take the whole front end (bumper, grill, mouldings etc) off to change the headlight bulbs, which works out around £100 if I remember correctly. I hope yours isn't that much of a job!
