A3 Sline Tdi 170 Comments
Discussion
My lovely 3.2V6 Alfa GT engine blew up after 1000 miles of gentle (honest) running in and I moved house recently to what I thought was the centre of Brighton but is actually Beirut.
Therefore if I replaced my fragile Alfa it would last all of 2 minutes before it had been kicked, scratched and covered in kebab and this would make me cry.
So I have decided to pass this pain on to the company I work for and having looked at my choices, they are all diesal.
The most exciting appears to be the A3 TDi170 but has anybody driven one, what are they like, are they FUN!!!!

I've not driven the TDI 170 yet but I was considering it.
I'm actually now looking at the A3 S-line 2.0TFSI Quattro purely because of the Special Edition

I was going to get full Leather anyway and this way I get it for free. I would imagine that the TDI is superb and I was very very tempted.
Doesn't really answer your question though...
Out of interest, what options are you looking at getting?
I'm thinking about: Metallic, Rear parking, armrest, cruise control, ipod

Haven't driven 2.0l petrol in the Audi but if it's the same engine as in the new Golf Gti then it's superb, really strong and still pretty good mpg.
Options I'll be going for are cruise, BOSE, Ipod connector, front centre arm rest, parking sensors, heated front seats, mulit function s/wheel, xenon headlights, rear mats, flat tyre indicator, ally roof rails-(Haven't really decided wether to get the Sportback or not)
Would also be interested in the results of a superchipped 170 engine?

I have TDI 140 Quattro & the car feels underpowered (Chip on the way)
They are very heavy cars and I would have had the 170 if it was available at the time.

Superchip, local independant garage does it where I got the car & they did the same to my previous golf. It's not the cheapest at £500ish, but it's what I know.
