I bought a Pioneer all in one sub and amp today however am in great difficulty and don't know how to fit it.

Firstly, how can the power supply be taken from the battery and fed through to the amp? I cannot find a way for the wires to travel from the bonnet to the seat. Is there some hidden gromets which I cannot see??

Secondly, everytime I connect the power from the amp to the battery (to test the unit works), it keeps blowing the fuse in the car. Why is this happening and how do I stop this from happening?

Not had any direct involvement with a Lupo but usually there is some access from the engine bay to the interior via the bulkhead, have a good look on the passenger side of the bulkhead in a Golf there is a large black grommet that can be pierced and used for the amp cable, the cable then comes out round the back of the glovebox and can be routed under the carpet.

I presume when your conecting the amp/sub to the battery you've already earthed the unit and connected it to the headunit, and the power cable to the amp/sub has a fuse in it no more than 12 inches from the battery?

Many thanks for your reply. Yep , all been checked ... Fuse is built into the wire which I bought. I will need to double check the earthing wire as I feel that this maybe causing the problem. I will defo look for that gromet though! Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated.

A good earth is critical, make sure you remove all the paint from the area you're earthing to, so the unit is connected direct to the metal of the car body and not via a layer of primer and top colour.

Yep. it was also suggested to me to connect it to the earth running from the battery to the engine. As it maybe short curcuiting.
