Powered by a 6.0 litre 60v 12 cylinder engine with the cylinders arranged in three banks of four cylinders, and producing 509bhp.
Audi claimed that it would propel the Avus to a staggering top speed of 211 mph and a 0-60 time of 3 seconds.
Does anybody know if the engine was actually made?
If so, what happened to it?

Isn't it 4 banks of 3 cylinders (two VR6 engines bolted together) instead?

Yeah it might well be Thom, that sounds more logical...
Matt.

There's one in a dealer somewhere in the world too. Might be the same one though?
I saw an Avus at an Audi dealer in Stockholm back in 2001. Don't know if it actually worked, as far as I could tell they weren't offering test drives Got a picture somewhere, looked very nice indeed...
