I've seen and test drove an S2 Avant on Sunday.

And I'm kinda sold on it, but I'll probably go back for an in-depth play/check over of it.

What should I be specifically looking for with this model?

Any hints/tips/suggestions gratefully received.

It's a 1995 M with 123k on the clock and absolutely impeccablr service history - the vast majority AMD, and it's got 10 months MOT.

Many thanks in advance,

K

If you've got a spare £200 or so kicking around then getting it inspected by Phil Payne is always a good idea. He's most knowledgeable on ur quattros but knows his stuff on most 5 cyilinder audis.

Do you know where's located? I can't work it out from his site.

If he's localish - or can easily get to me, then yeah - a no-brainer.

Phil's in Sheffield, but fairly mobile so might be around your way for something else. He's currently without driving license, so proximity to major train lines is a bonus.

Thanks Alec.

I'll phone him tomorrow and see if he's down my way quite soon.

Many thanks,

A great big folder of bills and service history. These cars need looking after and I would like to see all those lovely bills.

Generally bullet proof in the drive train and engine department. Its the cosmetics and ancillaries that can let it down.

Fantastic Q car though, especially if you de badge them...

Good luck and if you do buy if come over here www.s2forum.com its great!

Cheers.

Steve.

Steve,
It's got all of the above !!!!!!

And I signed up to the forum at the weekend .... in fact - the car I'm interested in is the one discussed here (ironically) www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=169549&posted=1#post169549
