Hi

Advice if possible: I have a 2000 MKIV Golf TDi SE 90 BHP, this is my everyday car whereas before I have always had a car with some form of sport suspension set-up. Therefore my driving style is a bit more ‘spirited’ than the current suspension can cope with on the country roads I normally travel to work on.

Albeit I could change my driving style, but I think it would be easier to change the set-up. Therefore I am asking if anyone has improved the suspension on one of these cars or could suggest improvements to the current set-up for a more sportier feel - something simialr to the GTi set-up, perhaps ????

Cheers

2nd hand GTI setup and a remap?

Or if you don't mind spending a few quid coilovers, poly bushes, remap, intercooler...

Hi Alex

Thanks for that. I am not technically minded, so would that be a stright swap for the current stuff? I was also meant to ask about remap in my initial post - any recommendations?

Cheers

Forget gti set up, its wallowy shite as well, get decent progressive springs (H&R or Eibach recommended) & quality dampers (koni, Eibach- maybe Boge if on tight budget) on there & it will be 100% better, maybe aftermarket antiroll bars too.

Hi Guys (& Gals)

Thanks for the advice so far.

Iguana, do you speak from experience - have you tried to do this aswell?

Wheels/Tyres - they are Std VW alloys with 195/65/15 tyres on.

Thanks

Stu

How much do you wanna spend ?

New shocks, springs plus labour is gonna set upi back anything between 300 and 500.

my advice .. live with it, sell your car, and buy a GTTDI or even a PD. then you have a reasonable starting platform... then spend £00 - 500 on new suspension and you will have a truely great car
