Creaking suspension/brakes

Hi, when i park my 2.0 SE 2000 X reg Bora and get out (no matter on hill or level ground), there is a horrible creaking noise which i assume is either the brakes, or more likely the suspension.

Handbrake works fine, car has covered 71K.

Any ideas?

You might be putting too much strain on the handbrake. If you leave the car in gear when parked you'll only need the handbrake to help the gears out on hills. Use reverse gear as that's the lowest. You should then find that the creaking will subside.
