when my golf reaches operating temperature it starts to leak oil. its not the head gasket because the running of the car is perfect and there is no oil mixing with the oil. does anyone have any other ideas please

Is there a visible leak from somewhere in the engine bay? Or is there a smell of oil being burned? If not then it must be leaking out of the exhaust (in the form of smoke probably but it might not be noticeable).

there is visible oil, it only leaks when i drive the car the so i cant pin point the exact where abouts of the leak. its leaking behind the engine.

Sounds like a leak from the head gasket thats leaking to the outside, or a loose oil pressure sensor or seal of some kind.
Good possibility its the cam cover gasket. Try tightening the 10 mm nuts that secure the cam cover gasket, they have a habit of coming loose.

cam cover gasket is the likely and easiest culprit.
Next on the list would be the camshft seal, then the intermediate shaft seal.
