Advice on chipping a Passat TDi
Discussion
Hi all,
Just picked up a 2000 Passat 1.9 TDi 115 (PD) with 90k on the clock for use as a daily runabout/motorway miles. Me being me, I can't possibly leave it without extracting some more performance from it. Being the runabout, I'm loathe to spending any money on it, though, when that could go on "proper toys". I know they're not a particularly clever way of hiking the power, but was considering this cheap-as-chips tuning box: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl
Anybody any experience of these kind of budget fudges around the exhaust temperature? The main thing for me with this car is getting 50-60k of life out of it without any major bills (clutch included!) before selling it for peanuts.
Cheers!

A remap with a thorough checking out of the car before and after cost £399+VAT and took about 2 hours.
Most 130 engines already produce 140+ anyway so the hike isn't quite so drastic and still around the 30% mark.
Best bet is to give the guys a call. Ed is very helpful...

Mine's a 51 plate with 82k on the clock. Goes like stink now but wasn't exactly a salted slug before.
