Bought my loverly 2001 225bhp tt roaster last july from audi main dealer, with 12month warranty,as a summer treat while driving my zafira for every day use. The car had coverd only 32700 miles. The clutch went this thursday after me only driving it for 3200 miles over a period of 11 months, i've been told its not coverd by the warranty so i dispuited this with the garage and they have offerd to pay £400 towards the £975 cost of replacing it. My last 5 cars have been vauxhalls and i've never had to have a clutch fitted before, two of them had coverd 100,000 miles.do you think i should have to pay anything or should I sell it and get another vauxhall?

I've just sold my Nissan Navara, but before it went the clutch fell to pieces, out of warranty so and no response from Nissan. The truck was only 2.5years old but had covered 90k all by me.
So to get £400 back from Audi is a result and I'd snap their hands off.

I would bite their arm off too. It sounds like the previous owner is one of those w*nkers that holds their car still on hills using the clutch.

I'll bet none of your Vauxhalls were 4 wheel drive either.

Hard luck, I think you're lucky to get anything from Audi though. There is a high probability one of the previous owners liked full-bore standing starts or as generally abusive to the clutch. Our TTs clutch has done 70k and feels like new. I bought my A6 at 67k miles and the clutch felt high. Its now done 123k, the clutch feels tired but still works fine. Its all down to how its been driven.
