I just ordered an RS4 which should turn up next year.
When I was ordering it though the chap ticked his next contact box and wrote in Feb 2007.
Am I wrong to think that they should be trying to keep me interested in the Audi brand etc before then?
I wouldn't mind if it was an A2 but this is a 50k halo model!

I can see how that may have irked you a little but if they dont have the car what were you expecting, really?

Hi, heres a card, just to let you know, they still havent built your car!

You could always go outside the dealer network and get one a bit quicker...

Actually plotloss its not the delivery time of the car that I'm talking about.
If I took a clients money and then ignored him for the next 6 months before I then rang him up and asked him for more biz I would fully understand if he then told me where to get off.
Thats why I found it odd

Thing is they don't actually need your business, if there's a delivery time that long it's because they have more customers than cars so don't go thinking that because your parting with £50k you're important to them.
If you pull out of the deal they aren't going to be upset as there will be a list of people waiting to fill your slot.
They would probably be treating you better if you were buying an A2 as the cash flow is quicker.

You're probably right but its a somewhat shorter term view than I would expect. I have never been hugely interested in Audi's before and with the exception of the R8 probably won't be again. But if I were the dealer I'd be trying to change that pov. 50k now so what might I spend next time?
