Do you mean the S6, or an engine transplant in a Volvo?

I had an S6 4.2 saloon, sold it today in fact. Lovely car and I still have pangs about selling it. Not cheap to run but worth it.

No idea what counts as a rival, really - BMW 540i isn't as quick, M5 is manual only (all UK S6s are automatic with Tiptronic). Merc E55 wasn't something I considered because I dislike them. As for boot space, the boot is very long indeed, not quite as wide as you'd think and a bit too shallow to have two stuffed suitcases on top of each other. Plenty of space for a family of 4 to go away, though, including small bicycles and suchlike. The limiting factor I found was the aperture size - a number of times I had to put things in through the rear doors, and one small wicker chair wouldn't fit no matter which way I twisted it, though there was plenty of space for it inside.

Anything else you would like to know?

Yours looked good, a very reasonable price as well, been keeping an eye on it in the classifieds as I am also considering one as a replacement to my S2. When you say not cheap, do you mean fuel costs or general maintenance/insurance costs? Also how did you find Dave Lees, I am pretty local (Leamington) and have had enough wallet lightening experiences at Listers to want to go elsewhere, although MRC in Banbury would be another option?

Sorry for all the questions, but it is pretty hard to find first hand experience on the web.

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks for the information.

You have answered most of what I wanted to know.

Good question about running costs? So what are these like.

Also is it a comfortable cruiser as well as a bruiser when you want to get a little frisky.....?

What are the performance figures like?
