I have on order an RS4 cabrolet for August delivery to replace my 02 996 Carrera2 cab. Right/ wrong move? Will the RS hold its value? Any thoughts please?

Have never thought audi cabs look right (compared with saloon / avant). Will it hold its value. Not a chance. The old RS4 was limited production restricted to an avant. The new RS4 has a higher production run across all variants. So plan on large depreciation (as with most cars (including 911s) these days.

I am tempted by the new rs4 avant though ...

Really? Is that why only 60-80 RS4 cabs have been released to the UK market this year.
And hopefully in July 1 of them will be mine

Well I've decided to go with the Audi, should get mine in July too. The Porsche is getting old, I cant see much point in upgrading to another 996 and a 997 cab will cost me at least 75k. I would hope that I could get rid of the rs4 within the first 3-6 months and not do too much money on it if necessary, or fall in love with it and not care!

If the 60-80 car thing is genuine I shoulnt have a problem either way.

Nice one. What spec have you gone for? Here's mine:

Phantom Black with black interior and black hood.
Cabriolet Sports seats - Silk Nappa leather, black with silver piping.
Carbon Fibre inlay
TV reception
Adaptive headlights
Auto-dimming rear view mirror, with light and rain sensors
Door-mirrors – auto-dimming and folding

Very similar

Phantom Black
Cabriolet Sports seats - Silk Nappa leather, silver with black piping.
Carbon Fibre inlay

Ive just tried to add the Auto-dimming RVM and folding mirrors and theyve told me the car is already in production, should have been week 22 ( three weeks time! )

I'm starting to get the feeling I'm getting rushed in case I change my mind! Two weeks ago they couldnt even tell if I'd ever get one.

Know anyone who wants a 996 C2 cab ???

I've just had a call from my dealer and have been told the same too. Yesterday he told me build week 22, today it's already at stage 2 in production. He still reckons it won't be here till July though.

Just noticed that you're in Kent. Which dealer are you using?

Yes I'm the other person.

I know of another person who ordered one too - another Black one too. So there's atleast 3 of us.

I spoke with Docklands Audi when I was looking around and they had apparently taken 8 orders for them.

I was down there a couple of weeks ago and met the guy who'd just picked up this RS4 saloon.
