mk2 gti exhaust - advice needed

Hi. I am posting on behalf of a friend of mine who would like to get a new exhaust for his Mk2 GTi.

He has been looking to get a Milltek, though is afraid that (going on people he has spoken to), it will be too loud. Other than that, he has also been recommended Jetex exhausts, but would like a few more opinions if at all possible!

Basically, I think he is after an exhaust that sounds nice, rather than just loud.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!

Miltek are decent, but never seen/heard one on a Mk2, but had 'em on Mk3 where its not too noisy.

I've got Jetex its decent & not noisy, however if its a standard car just stick with the stock kit, it sounds fruity enough & no power gains to be had from swapping.

I have a full stainless jetex system on my MKII valver and I like it. However I cannot compare with standard as It was on when I bought it. What I will say is that it is quite noisy but VERY free flowing at the top end, the rev counter wants to go off the clock! (Or is that all valvers??)
