URGENT - FLASHING GLOW PLUG LIGHT ON MY GOLF - HELP
Discussion
Hi - I just swapped my rear lights on my VW Golf 1999 mk4 TDi at the weekend for ones of a GT. Since then the glow plug light flashes when driving and have read on other forums that this means my rear brake lights dont work. This has turned out to be true!!! Would anyone have a remedy to solve this problem as I don't want plod pulling me over or worse someone ploughing into the back of me! HELP!!!!
Haven't done the swap but as the MkIV bulb kit I bought had the wrong bulbs in for my GTI I suspect there may be differences.
Did you keep your bulb holders or use the ones from the GTI? If you kept your bulb holders then chances are you just have a loose clip or maybe the bulbs have come loose. If you used the GTI ones then you need to get both sets out and compare them. Might be simplest just to put your bulb holders back in the GTI lights and then check which lights actually light up.
I do know that the smoked rear clusters use 10W '245' bulbs, which I suspect the std cars don't.
