Hi All,

My front suspension strut bushes are in a particularly bad way (VMax hooning didn't help) and I need to replace them sharpish (Car is on 115k).

Can anyone recommend whether I stick with the default replacement bushes or I upgrade to Poly bushes while I am doing it?

I guess it goes without saying that I should replace my front shocks if I've done the rears recently?

Cheers

Neil

what do you mean by strut bushes?
the top mounts ? if so when you jack up the front of the car these are supposed to drop down and have loads of play obviously the ball joint at the bottom should have no play

I polybushed the front of mine with Bonrath top mounts and Eibach bars, what a difference, the car was so tight but the shocks didn't need to be set too high so you got the handling without losing your fillings!

Hi guys,

Thanks for you replys - to reiterate my problem at the mo - the front end is VERY washy, i.e. you go round a corner and the bushes take a while moving and then settle, giving me a very unnerving feeling in the corners.

I'm obviously driving very carefully, and am treating it with care, with a view to replacing it all this weekend.

With your advice in hand, how long do you need to take for the job, and what special tools if any?

Anybody???

Just had a quick look and it looks/feels like the top bolt is loose (although tight against the strut).

I'd hazard a guess at the bush being worn?

Time/tools needed - best throwing into a garage?
