central locking pumps

as i am now trying to research ways of making some replacement parts for the A4 locking pump, is there anyone out there who has had a similar problem, or has changed their locking pump recently??
i am more than willing to purchase old locking pumps from about 1996 models onwards to help with a little R and D.
and hopefully come up with a viable solution.
