OK, took delivery last Friday, and so far have managed to clock up 650miles - still 1350 away from red-line nirvana. Some pics below, not a professional, so they're a bit "sketchy". It's Mugello Blue, BTW. Hope you all like them...... Cheers, Mark

YUM YUM YUM!

You really are a lucky barsteward. Congratulations....

I am hoping to be able to afford a second hand one in about 10 years. So that's only 520 weeks to wait....

Cheers,

Steve.

I don't usually go in for jealousy, envy or the like.

But can I just say that, despite not ever having met you, I think you are a complete and utter bastard?

Great colour. That and Misano.

You must be slim going for the buckets - I was too big for them.

Enjoy!

Steady on, Paul, can't see you jumping in until the depreciation curve has entirely flatlined!

But to the lucky, new owner, MEGA plaudits - this is indeed one mouth watering prospect for uber real world schnellism.

A certain tweaker of pork was telling me a couple of days ago about this car, having given it some decent anvil on a test drive: reckons any (E39) M5 owner would love it.

I must say, I'm being gradually worn down by the unavoidable brilliance of VAG design these days: the sheer competence, quality & refinement with this kind of blistering power? Truly magnificent.

Come to think of it, Jeremy C's 100-and-odd thousand mile RS2 impressed at Brunters last Sunday and Craig's RS4 remains an as yet criminally unsampled delight: that this has moved those games on even further, instilling this oft cited 'handling dearth' you have to admire it.

Scum.

That is a serious bit of kit you got yourself there. Great spec.

I've moved from BMW to Audi a year ago and slowly working my way up the ladder. Quality, design and engines have always been a strong point in my book - but now that they are getting the handling right as well. A great car for the real world.

Report back on your first encounter with an M3!

Good work mate!

I'm hearing strange things about the engine in the R8 like will the V8 be the RS4 engine or just the 350 PS FSI from the Q7?...and which V10 output?

Not had any news yet on the engine for the R8. More than likely will go for the V10 option, but so far the dealer has no further info to add. Took my deposit though!

The best thing about the new RS4 for me, being in the position of not being able to afford one, is that the price of the previous generation RS4 Avant just HAS to fall and perhaps come within my financial reach. oh yes.
