Does anyone have the method to reset the 'service' reminder on a MK4 VW Golf - i am aware that this can be completed without tools.

I looked into this. forget paying 99p in ebay, it doesnt work.
The pressing of buttongs whlst turning the ignition key didnt work at all.

I've got the details at home, it can be done using the trip button and the clock button, and it's not that hard, I managed it
I think it's actually in the original VW owners manual, and the Haynes manual.
It's just a case a following the instructions to the letter
Do a search on www.uk-mkivs.net and you'll have the answer in a matter of minutes.

With the ignition switched off, press and hold the trip reset button. Switch ignition on and release the reset button. Turn the knob to reset the minutes on the clock to the right and the display should return to normal.

Thanks all - it does work! Apparently though it will inly reset to inform whennext service is due taking into account the mileage since reset and not the style of driving ie. short journeys etc.
