3.0 Turbo diesel convertible
Discussion
Do you think I would be mad to go for a 3.0 turbo diesel A4 Convertable?
I was thinking of changing to one in about a years time (second hand) and maybe chip tuning to get the best of both worlds, a powerful torque filled engine with economy as well.
The only thing that would worry me is the noise it would make, would I end up not putting the top down for fear of the noise!!!!

Having driven an A4 3.0 TDI saloon, noise is definitely not a problem. They also go like stink!
I got curious about test driving one when I was pulling onto the M40 and one came up behind me and stormed passed - in a cloud of smoke The torque of the thing was amazing and even when I decided to pull past it, it wasn't far off keeping up. We both stopped at Warwick services and I started chatting to the owner. He used to run an S4 bi-turbo and said going to the 3.0 TDI was the best thing he'd done. Still got 35+ mpg regularly.
Good call I reckon!
